Details Released from Weekend Fatality

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones releases the following information regarding the Friday overnight incident in the 5700 block of Cincinnati-Dayton Road that resulted in the death of a female.

Around 12:15 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 41-year-old Rebekah Jo Shaw, of Trenton-Oxford Road, was found lying just off the side of the roadway. She had sustained significant injuries, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators were able to locate the driver of a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado, which was believed to be involved.

Thomas Recker, Jr., age 55, of Kyles-Station Road, Liberty Township, has been charged with OVI, Leaving the Scene, and Aggravated Vehicular Homicide in connection with the incident. He is currently housed at the Butler County Jail.
