Subject Appears To Jump From Moving Vehicle During Pursuit

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that around 1:30pm today, deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop near Hancock Avenue and S. R. 4 in the City of Hamilton. When the deputy approached the vehicle, the driver of a 2010 Chevy Malibu took off northbound on S. R.4. The pursuit continued onto eastbound S.R. 129 to southbound Bypass 4 in Fairfield Township. Shortly after turning onto Bypass 4, it appears a passenger in the vehicle jumped from the car and landed in a ditch. Deputies discontinued the pursuit to assess any injuries the passenger may have suffered. The unknown black male, who was covered in blood, got up and ran from the area into a bean field on the west side of the roadway.
