Traffic Accident In Hanover Township Results In Fatality

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that yesterday, at approximately 5:50 PM, Hanover Township emergency crews and Butler County S.T.A.R.T (Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team) responded to U.S. 27 (Millville Oxford Road) just south of S.R. 130 (Old Oxford Road) in Hanover Township for a crash with injuries. A dump truck with an attached trailer was hauling a back hoe travelling southbound on U.S. 27. The truck struck a train overpass causing the back hoe to slide off the trailer. The trailer struck an on-coming vehicle operated by Patricia Manning, 56 year old female. She was driving a 1996 Toyota and was pronounced dead at the scene. She had a 4 year old passenger that was flown by Air Care to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for evaluation. 22 year old William Manning was also a passenger in the Toyota but was not injured and went with the juvenile to Children’s Hospital. The child’s injuries were said to be non-life threatening.

The accident is still under investigation by the Butler County Coroner’s Office and Butler County S.T.A.R.T. (Serious Accident Reconstruction Team).
