Burglar Hits Second House After Being Confronted By Homeowner

Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that today at approximately 7:30 AM, a male subject broke into a residence on Bunker Hill Woods Road in Reily Township. The suspect fled after being confronted by the homeowner. Deputies observed a subject matching the clothing description and detained him for identification. While attempting contact with the homeowner, the subject exited the cruiser and ran into a near-by corn field. Butler County Sheriff’s helicopter and K9 units assisted with the search for the subject. During the search, the suspect broke into another home on Decamp Road and was confronted by a 15 year old male armed with a gun who ordered him out of the residence. The description from the 15 year old matched the description from the previous burglary.
