Sheriff Opens Jail Lobby To Provide Temporary “Warming Center”

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces that due to the extremely frigid weather conditions, anyone in need of temporary relief from the cold is permitted to “warm up” in the main lobby area of the Butler County Jail. Sheriff Jones said “no one should be stranded outside or in a vehicle during these extreme low temperatures. If you need a place to go, you are welcome here in our lobby. These temperature conditions can be life-threatening and we do have restroom facilities available.”
