Former Teacher Indicted For Several Sex Charges Involving A Minor

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that after a four-month long investigation, Justin Madden, 29 year old male and former teacher at New Miami High School has been indicted on 11 charges.  Two of those charges are sexual battery a felony of the 3rd degree involving a minor.  The victim is also a former student of New Miami High School but has since transferred.

In September of last year, Mr. Madden was placed on administrative leave from his employment at the high school when allegations were made.  The juvenile’s identity will not be disclosed due to age.  Sgt. Ed Tanner said “we had to cover every angle, teachers are around a lot of students and we had to make sure there weren’t any more victims.”

Sheriff Jones stated: “We are absolutely not going to tolerate this horrific behavior.  This guy was trusted to educate the youth of our community and obviously violated that.  We will work with the prosecutor’s office to ensure justice is served.  It disgusts me that this guy was supposed to be looked at as a mentor and someone that kids could look up to. I don’t get it, but I will fight to see that he gets what he deserves.”

The case will continue with the investigations division.
