Deputy Charged For Sexual Misconduct Involving A Minor

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that Michael Baker, a deputy with the Butler County Sheriff’s Office was arrested and incarcerated in the Butler County Jail yesterday around 9:00 PM.  Deputy Baker is allegedly involved in inappropriate contact with a minor.

As soon as the allegation came to light, the Sheriff’s Office acted quickly on the investigation.  “I am angry and disgusted. This will absolutely not be tolerated and I will work directly with the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office to make sure justice is served,” said Sheriff Jones.

Deputy Baker was immediately placed on administrative leave and is relieved of all police powers.  He is scheduled for a pre-disciplinary hearing this week to determine his future with the agency.  Deputy Baker is charged with sexual imposition, a misdemeanor of the 3^rd degree.

The case remains under investigation with the Detectives Division at the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
