Grow Operation Located During Child Removal
Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that Butler County Children Services was in the process of doing a child removal. During the investigation, they observed what was believed to be a marijuana grow operation. The Butler County Sheriff’s Office B.U.R.N. (Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics) Unit responded. They discovered it was a butane hash oil operation being processed for distribution. Butane hash oil is used for manufacturing illegal drugs such as marijuana and can be fatal to humans. “This is the stuff that can easily blow up and have fatal results, the main ingredient is butane,” said Detective Andrews.
Melanie Couch 28 year old female and Tyler Couch, 27 year old male were charged with cultivation of marijuana, a felony of the 5th degree, illegal manufacturing of drugs, a felony of the 1st degree, and endangering children, a felony of the 3rd degree.
