Deputies Take Part in Hero’s Ride

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones is very proud of his motorcycle unit for being a part of the Hero’s Ride.  On Saturday, August 22nd, more than 450 riders were a part of this great benefit.  Donations are used for severely injured returning military and or their families for financial or emotional assistance.  It began May 9, 2005 – LCpl Taylor B. Prazynski, from Fairfield Ohio, died from an explosion while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Al Karmah, Iraq.  As a way to honor him, and the other men and women who lost their lives since 9/11, a group of motorcycle enthusiasts joined together to raise funds for “Impact A Hero” which is a nonprofit organization that’s consists of business leaders, athletes, entertainers and sports franchises.  They provide continuous emotional, career and financial support to American military personnel who are severely injured or disabled.

Since 2005, the Hero’s Ride has grown to honor a number of individuals throughout the Tri-State area and have also raised over $164,000 for “Impact a Hero”.   “We are grateful to be able to be a part of this benefit, I am all about giving to our military men and women, and I am proud of the motorcycle unit for being a part of this.  Anything that benefits those who fight for our freedom and their families, I am willing to do whatever I can,” said Sheriff Jones.
