Miami University Property Recovered, 2 Charged

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that yesterday afternoon, BCSO detectives and BURN (Butler County Undercover Narcotics) task force agents executed a search warrant that resulted in the recovery of a stolen pickup truck and two leaf blowers that are the property of Miami University in Oxford. They also recovered a stolen motor bike that belongs to a separate victim.

The search warrant was executed at 4025 Darrtown Road in Milford Township.  During the execution of the search warrant, deputies discovered the remnants of a methamphetamine lab.

David M. Hoelle, 43 year old male from Darrtown Ohio, admitted to the meth lab and possession of the stolen items.  Mr. Hoelle was charged with Manufacturing Illegal Drugs, Assembly of Chemicals, and Receiving Stolen Property, all felony charges.  Christopher Lake, 45 year old male from Darrtown Ohio, was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, a felony of the 5th degree. Additional charges may be presented to the Grand Jury.

“My guys received investigative information about the stolen property and acted swiftly to recover it. The discovery of the meth lab, in this case, is just an added bonus for the good guys,” Sheriff Jones said. “I’m proud of these deputies and how fast they acted getting this property back and the drugs off the streets.”

The property will be returned to Miami University and the victim as soon as possible.
