Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that over the weekend, the Butler County Jail medical staff tested an inmate who was exhibiting a low grade fever for COVID-19. After the test yielded a positive result, the inmate (35 year old male) along with his cell mate were moved to another Butler County jail facility that has been emptied and prepped to handle inmates that test positive for the COVID-19. The cell mate has also been tested with results pending. The Butler County Jail has only one (1) COVID-19 confirmed case.

 Sheriff Jones states, “My corrections and medical staff have prepared diligently to handle any inmate that tests positive for COVID-19.
