
Major Norman E. Lewis
Major Norman E. Lewis started in Law Enforcement in 1981 and has been employed with the Butler County Sheriff’s Office since 1983. Major Lewis has served in every division within the Sheriff’s Office and has held the ranks of Deputy, Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant and Captain. He served as Jail Warden and oversaw the construction of the new 40 million dollar Butler County Jail which opened in 2002.
Previously he was assigned to the patrol division as a shift commander and prior to that he was the supervisor of the Drug and Vice Investigations Unit.
As a Detective, Major Lewis was selected to participate in a task force sponsored by the Ohio Organized Crime Commission where he was sworn in as a Special Investigator with the FBI and United States Marshall’s Service. The task force identified and successfully prosecuted 11 separate criminal enterprises.
Major Lewis’ currently oversees the Patrol Division and Criminal Investigation Bureau operations. He resides in Wayne Township with his wife and children.
