The
polygraph is a sophisticated instrument that measures anatomical
reactions to questions. The charts are then interpreted by the examiner to
detect deception, or to verify truth. The polygraph has proven to be an
effective tool for investigators.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office provides Polygraph service for other local agencies, both inside and outside of Butler County Ohio.
In
the year 2004, the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Polygraph Unit conducted 63
Polygraphs. Of those, fifteen (15) were Criminal Investigation cases, three (3)
were Internal Investigations and the remaining forty-five (45) were
pre-employment polygraphs.
