Each of these
categories dictates the registration and notification requirements to which the
offender is subject to.
All sex offenders are required to register with the Sheriff of the County in which they reside within seven days of release from prison or moving to a new County. Each Predator that moves in Butler County, all the schools and daycares, both public and private, are notified. Every resident that lives within 1,000 foot radius of the Predators residence is notified by postcard. There could be as little as 20 postcards to the public or as many as 300 depending on how populated the area is in which the predator resides. There are virtually thousands upon thousand of notifications distributed yearly.
