


The
D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program and training is a joint
venture between the Butler County Sheriff’s Office and the school districts of
Butler County, aimed at giving students the necessary skills to live drug free
and violence free lives.
The D.A.R.E. classes are taught by a designated Deputy Sheriff, to students in grades K-7. The D.A.R.E. core curriculum is provided for 5th and 6th grades in eight Butler County Schools and a total of 1,491 students went through this program in 2004.
