Sex offenders classifications are determined by the courts and are placed in one of the following categories:


SEXUALLY ORIENTED OFFENSES

Sexually Oriented Offenses

Rape (2907.02)

Sexual Battery (2907.03)

Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor (2907.04)

Gross Sexual Imposition (2907.05)

Importuning (2907.07)

If Committed with Purpose to Satisfy the Sexual Needs/Desires of the Offender

Kidnapping (2905.01)-regardless of the age of the victim

Murder (2903.02)

Aggravated Murder (2903.01)

Felonious Assault (2903.11)

If the Victim is a MINOR

Abduction (2905.02)

Unlawful restraint (2905.03)

Criminal Child Enticement (2905.05)

Corruption of a Minor (2907.04)

Compelling Prostitution (2907.21)

Endangering Children (2919.22 (B) (5))-certain subsections; child is under 18 yrs.

Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor (2907.321 (A) (1) or (A) (3))

Pandering Sexual Oriented Matter Involving a Minor (2907.322 (A) (1) or (A) (3))

Illegal Use of a Minor in a Nudity-Oriented Material or Performance (2907.323 (A) (1) or (A) (2))

A violation of any former Ohio law that is substantially equivalent to any offense listed above, including felonious sexual penetration.

An offense under an existing or formal municipal ordinance or law of another state or the federal government, or a violation under the law applicable in military court that is substantially equivalent to any of the offenses listed above.

An attempt to commit, conspiracy to commit, or complicity in committing any of the offenses listed above.
