Butler County Sheriff’s Deputy Charged with Domestic Violence

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces that a Butler County Deputy Sheriff has been charged with Domestic Violence. Deputy Nick Brandenburg was charged with Domestic Violence 2919.25 (misdemeanor of the first degree), after his wife filed a complaint with the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. She alleged that her husband assaulted her on 10-04-06, while at their residence, located in Liberty Township. Deputy Brandenburg was not on duty at the time of the incident and the injuries that were claimed by his wife did not require any type of medical treatment. Deputy Brandenburg was placed under arrest on 10-04-06 and incarcerated as per State of Ohio guidelines concerning Domestic Violence allegations. Deputy Brandenburg had his arraignment on 10-05-06 at Area 1 court and is out on bond pending his court appearance at Area 2 court. Deputy Brandenburg has been employed by the Sheriff’s Office for 6 years and is currently on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
