Deputies to Conduct Extra Patrols on Halloween

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces additional Deputies will be on patrol Halloween evening, Tuesday, October 31, from late afternoon through late evening. The Sheriff hopes that increased Deputy visibility will make this Halloween a safe one for trick-or-treaters as well as party-goers.

Approximately 100 additional overtime hours will be funded with a grant obtained through the Ohio Governor’s Highway Safety Office. During trick-or-treat hours, ranging from 5 pm to 8 pm depending on the area, the additional deputies will especially target neighborhood and subdivision areas countywide watching for speeders and reckless operators, as well as impaired drivers The additional patrols will continue into the late evening hours and the patrol emphasis will shift from subdivisions to more heavily-traveled roads.
