Citizen Action Leads To Meth Lab Detection
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces that a Reily Township resident alerted the Butler County Sheriff’s Office after locating chemicals and what appeared to be a makeshift chemistry lab in a wooded area of his property. Members of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Service Unit (ESU) and Drug and Vice Investigations Unit responded to the 7600 block of Peoria-Reily Rd. to find the remnants of a Methamphetamine Lab. Methamphetamine abuse and production have made itself more visible in the rural communities over the past few years and the Butler County Sheriff’s Office is taking a firm stance to apprehend and prosecute to the fullest those individuals found responsible for this type of activity.
An investigation into the lab found on Saturday evening is still ongoing and the Butler County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone who may have information on this or any other Clandestine Methamphetamine Labs in the area to contact the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Drug and Vice Investigation Unit DRUG TIPLINE at (513) 887-3029, callers will remain anonymous.
