Sheriff’s Office Seeking Information on Suspect in Bank Robbery
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports Sheriff’s Deputies and Officers from the New Miami and Seven Mile Police Departments as well as a K-9 unit from the Fairfield Police Department, converged on the scene of a bank robbery at the First National Bank Branch Office in Seven Mile around 1:30 this afternoon. The suspect, described as a white male believed to be in his 20’s, wearing a black-and-white striped shirt, sunglasses, and a Red Sox ball cap, passed a note demanding money to a bank employee. No one was injured during the robbery. He was last seen traveling on foot northbound on State Route 127 in Seven Mile.
The K-9 unit was able to track him a few blocks to the rear of the Seven Mile Post Office, where it is believed he may have gotten into a vehicle. Anyone with any pertinent information about the robbery, or suspect, is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center at (513) 785-1300.
