For Immediate Release… March 30, 2011
Bank Robbery Suspect Identified, Arrest Warrant Issued
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces that Sheriff’s Office Investigators have identified the suspect in the robbery of the First Financial Bank Branch in Seven Mile that occurred on Monday, March 28, 2011, and have obtained an arrest warrant out of Area 1 Court for the individual. Upon his apprehension, Ronald E. Loehr, age 37, of Starr Avenue, Hamilton, will face a felony 1 charge Aggravated Robbery in the incident.
On Tuesday, March 29, Investigators received information from Probation Officer Tiffany Gehrlich-Orr of the Butler County Adult Probation Department indicating Loehr was currently on probation for a previous theft charge, and matched the description of the robbery suspect. With the assistance of the Probation Department, Investigators were then able to develop enough information to merit the issuance of the warrant. During that process, Tammy Sharp, age 43, of the same Starr Avenue address, was arrested and taken to the Butler County Jail charged with Receiving Stolen Property (a small amount of cash believed to be stolen from the bank) and Failure to Report a Crime.
It is believed Loehr has fled Ohio. The Sheriff’s Office is working with the FBI and law enforcement agencies in other states as his where-a-bouts is being tracked. Loehr also still remains a suspect in several other area bank robberies in the City of Hamilton and locations in Hamilton County.
Sheriff Jones praised the cooperative effort of all those involved. “This has been a true team effort,” he said. “My Investigators did a great job in piecing this all together in such a short period of time. This guy might try to run and hide, but we all know that you can’t hide from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office too long. We’ve got a great history of tracking and arresting bad guys wherever they may go.”
