The Citizens of Hamilton Speak, Sheriff R.K. Jones Listens

Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces this morning, that after numerous complaints from the citizens of the City of Hamilton in reference to the blatant prostitution plaguing the streets, this activity is not only annoying the citizens living in the areas of concern, but also leads to drug activity. The citizens expressed their concern for the safety of their streets as well as the safety of their children playing in the areas.

The Sheriff orchestrated an operation that targeted areas where not only females were attempting solicit males for sex, but also targeted males attempting to pick up females. The Investigations Division and Agents of the BURN Task Force hit the streets in the early morning daylight hours looking for the obvious. Undercover investigators simply started talking to females on the streets and within moments the females had made offers for sexual activity. The females were immediately taken into custody and booked in the Butler County Jail.

As the evening progressed and eight female prostitutes were off the streets, the operation switched gears. The Sheriff then placed undercover female investigators on the streets. Within a few hours, three males were arrested for attempting to get the females to engage in sex acts.

In total, the operation netted eight (8) females and three (3) males who were in custody for Soliciting, a misdemeanor of the third degree. The arrestees will be charged through Hamilton Municipal Court pending a court appearance.

Sheriff Jones is very pleased with the results of the operation, when the safety of the citizens of Butler County is in jeopardy, action must be taken.
