BURN Taskforce Discovers Meth Lab, Three Arrested
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that an investigation by the Butler County Sheriff’s Regional Narcotics (BURN) Taskforce has led to the arrest of three people last night in connection with a meth lab operation. The task force investigation led to a traffic stop of a vehicle in front of 6801 Hamilton-Mason Road, West Chester, which location happened to be the residence of one of the car’s occupants. The two male occupants were in possession of some materials common to meth lab activity (cooking fuel, ice packs, etc). This led to a search of the residence and storage barn areas of the property where investigators found all the elements of a full meth lab operation, and they placed three persons under arrest.
Michael S. Murray, age 33, of Oxford, was charged with Illegal Manufacture of Drugs (F2) and Illegal Possession of Chemicals for Manufacture of Drugs (F3). Danny Burke, age 58, of the Hamilton-Mason Rd. address, was also charged with the same offenses. Victoria L. Burke, age 57, also of the Hamilton-Mason Rd. address was charged with Possession of Drugs (F5) and Permitting Drug Abuse (F5). All were taken to the Butler County Jail. The West Chester Fire Department and their Hazmat Unit were called to the scene and assisted with the removal of the potentially volatile materials. The Ohio Bureau of Identification and Investigations also assisted with cleanup efforts. The investigation continues, and additional charges may be filed.
