Fatal Crash in Madison Township

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports Deputies and emergency fire and rescue units from Madison Township responded to a two-vehicle crash on Trenton-Franklin Rd. shortly after noon today. Paul Richmond, age 20, of Middletown was driving a 1991 Pontiac Sunbird westbound in the 6400 block of Trenton-Franklin Rd. Preliminary investigation indicates the Sunbird traveled left of center at a curve, striking an eastbound 2002 Ford Focus, driven by Deborah Morris, age 48, of Carlisle, Ohio. Catherine Morris, age 76, also from Carlisle and a passenger in the Ford Focus, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Butler County Coroner’s Office. Richmond and Deborah Morris were transported to Middletown Regional Hospital by Madison Township Squad. Trenton-Franklin Rd. was closed for approximately 3 hours for investigative and clean up efforts. No charges have yet been filed, but the crash remains under investigation by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Investigations Unit and the Butler County Coroner’s Office.
