Sheriff Tours Armored Vehicle Production Site

Shortly after Memorial Day, Sheriff Richard K. Jones toured the BAE Systems Operations facility that makes Humvees and other armored vehicles for our military. “I was amazed at the efficiency of their operation. To view first hand the manufacturing of these vehicles that help protect our military personnel was truly impressive.” The facilities toured are located in West Chester Township here in Butler County.

BAE Systems employs more than 1,800 people in the Cincinnati, Ohio area and has 1 million square feet of manufacturing and office space, focusing on armor integration for military wheeled vehicle and commercial vehicle platforms, production of survivability components and accessories as well as ballistic glass. The Cincinnati area facility is part of BAE Systems’ Security & Survivability line of business. Security & Survivability is a leader in protection, security and survivability systems for land, air and naval applications. It is a technology leader in light weight materials, including composites, ceramic and transparent armor technologies; integrated vehicle armor systems; vehicle and aircraft survivability components and accessories; and soldier protection equipment, sold primarily to the government and other defense contractors.
