Fatal Crash in Wayne Township, Butler County

Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones reports that on July 21, 2009 at approximately 0005 hours Deputies along with Wayne Township Fire and EMS responded to the 2600 block of Tolbert Road reference to a crash with a report of an occupant that had been ejected from the vehicle. Preliminary reports show that two vehicles a 1999 GMC truck and a 1992 Dodge truck was traveling west bound on Tolbert Road and for unknown reason the driver of the GMC truck losing control of his vehicle and traveling off the south side of the roadway striking a telephone phone and then resting in the middle of the roadway, the driver of the GMC truck was found ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by squad personnel. Due to notification of family members the name of the deceased has not been released. The driver of the Dodge truck refused treatment at the scene by squad personnel.
The crash is still under investigation by the Butler County Sheriff's Office Traffic Unit.
