For Immediate Release… April 27, 2010

State Route 128 to be Closed for Several Hours

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces that State Route 128 (also known as Hamilton-Cleves Road) between Hamilton and Ross is currently closed to traffic due to a serious traffic crash that happened earlier today. The road is not expected to re-open to traffic until at least 2:30 pm, and could conceivably remain closed beyond that point. Traffic between Hamilton and Ross can be re-routed onto Smith Road, which intersects with S.R.128 in St. Clair Township, just south of Hamilton, and again with S.R. 128 in Ross Township, north of Ross.

The crash does involve a fatality, but further details are not yet available to be released. The road will be closed for crash investigative purposes and for cleanup efforts involving a fuel spill. Work crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation are on the scene to assist with cleanup efforts. Additional information is expected to follow.
