Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Madison Township, Butler County

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports today at approximately 1600 hours Deputies along with Madison Squad and Fire responded to the 5700 block of Trenton Franklin Road in Madison Township for a single unit motorcycle crash. Preliminary reports show that the motorcycle driven by a Jerry Tharp, age 64, was traveling southbound on Trenton Franklin Road and for unknown reason traveled off the right side of the roadway. Care Flight personnel from Miami Valley Hospital pronounced the operator of the vehicle Jerry Tharp dead at the scene. The passenger Ryan Bowlin, age 27, which is the daughter of the deceased was treated at the scene by Madison Squad and refused transport to a local hospital facility.
This crash still under investigation by the Butler County Sheriff’s Traffic Unit and the Butler County Coroner’s Office.
