Two Flown to UC Hospital after Car/Motorcycle Crash Last Night


Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports Deputies and Emergency Rescue Units from Ross Township responded to a car/motorcycle crash last night around 11:35 pm on State Route 128 at the US Route 27 interchange. James House, Jr., age 52, of Hamilton, was operating a motorcycle southwest on S.R. 128 (toward Ross). A 2005 Mazda 3, driven by 26-year-old Erica Elam, also of Hamilton, was traveling northeast on S.R. 128. Preliminary investigation indicates Elam turned left onto the US Route 27 access ramp in front of the on-coming motorcycle, which then struck the passenger side of the Mazda. House and his passenger, Patricia A. Webb, age 48, of Ross, were transported to University Hospital in Cincinnati by medical helicopter. Elam was reportedly not injured. No charges have been filed yet, but the crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
