Three Hospitalized After Early Morning Crash in Madison Township
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports a car crash early this morning has resulted in three persons being taken to area hospitals, one by Care Flight. The preliminary investigation indicates that around 2:35 am this morning, Randall Gabbard, age 33, of New Miami, OH, was driving a 1987 Chrylser LeBaron eastbound on Trenton-Franklin Road. Approximately ½ mile before the State Route 4 intersection, he lost control of the vehicle, traveled off the right side of the roadway, sliding on top of a guardrail and into a ditchline where it struck a pair of utility pole support wires. Gabbard and his two passengers were trapped inside the vehicle and had to be freed by Madison Township Fire and Rescue Squad members with mechanical equipment.
Gabbard, and passenger Roy Haney, age 37, of Middletown, were both transported by Squad to Middletown Regional Hospital. The other passenger, Gregory Cunningham, age 36, of Fairfield Township, was transported by Care Flight to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Traffic Investigations Unit.
