Indictments for manslaughter issued


Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces that indictments have been returned by the Butler County Grand Jury on Debra Gibson and Kenneth Gibson.

Debra Gibson 5890 Princeton Glendale Road has been indicted for Involuntary Manslaughter a Felony of the first degree and Permitting Drug Abuse a Felony of the Fifth Degree.

Kenneth Gibson 5890 Princeton Glendale Road has been indicted for two counts of Corrupting another with drugs Felony of the second degree and Involuntary Manslaughter a Felony of the first degree.

These indictments stemmed from an investigation conducted by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office and the Butler County Coroners Office. On August 2, 2006 deputies were dispatched to the 5800 block of Princeton Glendale Road in Liberty Township to investigate the death of a juvenile, David VanCleve.

Upon further investigation it was determined that David VanCleve’s death was the result of a drug overdose and evidence presented to the Grand Jury resulted in the Indictments of his maternal grandparents for furnishing and permitting the drugs of abuse that lead to his death.

Both Kenneth and Debra Gibson are currently at the Butler County Jail awaiting arraignment in the Butler County Common Pleas Court.
