Madison Township Crash Results in Fatality

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that on October 16, 2006, at approximately 1800 hours Deputies along with Madison Township Fire and EMS were dispatched to the 1500 block of Middletown Eaton Road in reference to a two vehicle injury accident.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a 1990 Buick Century, operated by Kenneth C. Witt (age 73), was proceeding westbound on Middletown Eaton Road near Mosiman Road when it traveled left of center striking a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire driven by Alisha K. Gibson (age 17) traveling eastbound. Kenneth C. Witt was pronounced dead at the scene by Madison Township Fire and EMS and the Butler County Coroner’s Office. Ms. Gibson was transported to Middletown Regional Hospital by Madison Life Squad with what appeared to be non life threatening injuries.

This section of roadway was closed for approximately three (3) hours for investigation and clean-up purposes. This accident remains under investigation by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit and the Butler County Coroner’s Office.
