Sheriff’s Idea for Stronger Immigration Laws Gaining Some Support
Last week, Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones wrote a letter to Ohio Governor John Kasich requesting him to pursue having legislation introduced in the Ohio House and Senate to strengthen immigration laws in Ohio.
Today, Sheriff Jones has received a copy of a letter sent to Governor Kasich by the Butler County Republican Party. That letter calls for the Governor’s specific attention to HB 286, originally introduced in June, 2011 by Representatives Courtney Combs and Danny Bubp, and currently in committee hearings. The letter indicates the local GOP’s wish that he (Governor Kasich) does all he can to “advance and enact this bill as legislation.”
