BURN Taskforce Cracking Down on Prescription Drug Abuse
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports the conclusion of a month long narcotics investigation into a Hamilton man on probation. The Butler County Sheriff’s Regional Narcotics (BURN) Taskforce received information that Richard D. Mincher of Parkamo Avenue, in Hamilton, was selling Hydromorphone (Dilaudid), Oxycodone pills, and other prescription medication.
During the investigation, agents enlisted the help of Inspector David Gross from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. It was found that Mincher was flying to Florida each month to obtain the pills to allegedly sell locally. He was also receiving prescriptions for Oxymorphone (Opana) and Oxycodone from a local doctor.
A search was conducted by the BURN Taskforce along with Butler County Adult Probation at Mincher’s residence. During the search agents recovered a handgun, prescription medication, and approximately $7000.00 in cash. Mincher was arrested and transported to the Butler County Jail on a probation violation. Additional charges will be presented directly to the Butler County Grand Jury.
