Fatal Crash in Liberty Township

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports Deputies and West Chester and Liberty Township Fire Rescue Personnel responded to Hamilton-Mason Road at Quail Run Road at approximately 1:15 pm for a two vehicle crash. Preliminary investigation showed a 1996 Chevy driven by Nichole Long, age 19, of Hamilton, Ohio, pulled into the path of a 1991 Nissan driven by Stephen Edwards, age 21, of Cincinnati, Ohio. Edwards drove off the right side to avoid hitting the Long vehicle and hit a concrete bridge abutment head-on. Edwards was taken to Middletown Regional Hospital by Liberty Township Life Squad. A passenger in the Edwards vehicle, Justin Quimby, age 23, of Cincinnati, Ohio was taken to Bethesda North Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
