Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that Deputies and members of the Liberty Township Fire Department responded to 8043 Evergreen Lane in Liberty Township at approximately 7:43pm reference to a child drowning in a pool. Dispatchers provided CPR instructions to adults at the residence until the deputy’s arrival who then took over CPR. Liberty Twp. Fire/EMS took over CPR upon arrival and transported the child to Middletown Hospital immediately. The child was pronounced deceased after efforts by hospital staff to revive the child failed.

This incident remains under investigation by Butler County Sheriff’s Office. Any information regarding the incident should be directed to the Investigations Division.
