Man Struck by Train in Saint Clair Township, Air-Cared to UC Hospital
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports Deputies and fire and rescue personnel from St, Clair Township responded around 6:10 this morning to a report of a man struck by a train near the State Route 127 crossing, just north of New Miami. Initial investigation indicates that 29-year-old Brandon Haning, from Caldwell St., Williamsdale, was sitting on the tracks when a southbound Norfolk & Southern freight train struck him. Haning was alert and talking with rescue personnel at the scene before being Air-Cared to University Hospital in Cincinnati. The crossing at State Route 127 was blocked by the train and closed for several hours after the incident, which remains under investigation by the Traffic Investigations Unit of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
