Butler County Sheriff’s Office Deputies Make Aggravated Robbery Arrest In New Miami, Immediately After New Miami Police Department Disbanded
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces that almost immediately after taking over the responsibility of providing law enforcement protection to the Village of New Miami, Deputies made an arrest in a Aggravated Robbery case. While on routine patrol around 11:00 p.m., Deputies observed a vehicle on U.S. 127 in the Village of New Miami operating at a high rate of speed. The operator of the vehicle, Oliver Hensley M/W DOB- 11-18-67 of Cain Ave. New Miami, Ohio, refused to stop and led Deputies on a short pursuit. After Mr. Hensley was apprehended for the traffic violations it was discovered that another Deputy in the Village of New Miami was taking an Aggravated Robbery/Stolen Vehicle report involving the suspect, Mr. Hensley and the vehicle he was operating.
A 16-year old male resident of New Miami reported that when he returned to his residence from a softball game, Mr. Hensley allegedly pulled a butcher knife on him and took his vehicle. Note- during Mr. Hensley’s arrest the alleged knife used in the robbery was recovered on his person. Mr. Hensley was charged with the following:
Aggravated Robbery (F-1), Theft of a Motor Vehicle (F-5), Tampering with Evidence (F-3), Failure to Comply (F-4), and Carrying a Concealed Weapon (M-1). He was then transported to the Butler County Jail for incarceration.
