For Immediate Release…. October 12, 2007
Sheriff’s Office & City of Hamilton Team Up to Clean Up
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that his office has teamed up with the City of Hamilton to once again help clean up Hamilton’s Fourth and Fifth Ward neighborhoods (areas that predominantly surround the Sheriff’s Office headquarters). Tomorrow (Saturday, October 13) Deputies will be supervising approximately twelve (12) prisoners from the Butler County Jail, and City of Hamilton officials have organized approximately forty (40) individuals on work/release programs and/or under court-ordered community service obligations to pick up trash in the targeted areas.
Those involved plan to meet around 8 am tomorrow at the old, vacated Hamilton fire station downtown, near the Market Street and Monument Avenue intersection. They will then be divided into groups for the trash pickup detail. Clean up efforts are planned to last until mid-afternoon.
Sheriff Jones is pleased to help, again, with the clean-up effort. “This is my office’s neighborhood – where my staff and workers come everyday. I’ll gladly provide assistance with this effort. It’s a win-win for us and all the residents of this area,” said Sheriff Jones.
