For Immediate Release…. October 24, 2007

Sheriff’s Office “Most Wanted” Feeling the Pressure.

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces today the arrest of one of his “Most Wanted”. Just a little more than 4 hours after the release of the latest version of Sheriff Jones’ “Most Wanted” poster, Roger French Jr. was taken into custody in Lake Helen, Florida. Warrants deputies learned of a possible location of French and asked Lake Helen P.D. to attempt to locate French. Within 2 hours of the request, Lake Helen P.D. took French into custody. Lake Helen P.D. reported to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office that French was found hiding in an attic area. French was listed on the poster for warrants stemming from two cases of Non-Support. French is behind in payments totaling more than $45,000. French is currently being held in the Volusia County Jail on warrants issued for Petty Theft, out of Lake Helen. Those charges are unrelated to today’s events. Once French has dealt with the charges in Lake Helen, Florida, he will be extradited to Ohio, to face his Butler County charges.

The Sheriff’s Office “Most Wanted” poster can be viewed on the Sheriff’s Office website at www.butlersheriff.org., and will soon be printed and distributed to other local law enforcement agencies and placed in various public building locations. Sheriff Jones considers getting these criminals off the streets a high priority. Anyone with information concerning the where-a-bouts of any of these wanted persons is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (513) 785-1300, contact their local law enforcement agency, or call 9-1-1.
