Meth Lab “Busted” in Milford Township

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports a cooperative investigation with the Preble County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the shutting down of a meth lab operation in Darrtown (Milford Township) yesterday. After an on-going investigation into alleged drug activity at the Darrtown location, a search warrant was executed around 2 pm at 4240 West St., where Deputies and Drug Agents (from both Sheriff’s Offices) discovered an active meth cooking operation in a camper on the premises. The Milford Township Fire Department and the Butler County Emergency Services Unit responded to handle lab tear-down and cleanup efforts that lasted until approx. 9 pm last night.

Emily Lawson, age 29, of the West St. address, was arrested and charged through Area 1 Court with “Possession of Drugs,” a felony 5. Butler County Children’s Services responded to the scene and removed two children under the age of 10 from the residence.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Vernon “Michael” Perry, age 35, also of 4240 West St., Darrtown, charging him with “Manufacturing of Meth Emphetamine,” felony 2; “Assembly of Chemicals for the Manufacture of Meth,” felony 3; and “Possession of Drugs,” felony 5.
Sheriff’s Deputies are actively looking for Perry. He is described as 5’9” tall, approx. 220 pounds, brown eyes, and brown hair. Anyone with information on his where-a-bouts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (513) 785-1300, or their local law enforcement agency.

During the course of yesterday’s investigation, Sheriff’s Detectives also discovered an apparent sexual relationship that has been on-going for approximately a year between a 23-year-old male resident there, and a 14-year-old female who frequented that location. Nicholas Simpson was also arrested and charged through Area 1 Court with “Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor,” a felony 4.
