Motor Vehicle crashes through building in Liberty Township
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that Deputies and members of the Liberty Township Fire Department and Life Squad responded near 5050 Hamilton-Middletown Road in Liberty Township at approximately 3:30 p.m. in reference to a vehicle crashing through a building. The driver of the vehicle, Mike Skidmore age 42 of Hamilton, was traveling westbound on Carrousel Boulevard operating a 1994 Plymouth mini-van when the crash occurred. Upon arrival of Deputies and EMS the vehicle was found partially submerged in a pool after going through an unoccupied portion of the Countryside Village business office. Liberty Township EMS personnel immediately rescued the driver and two children from the vehicle. Mr. Skidmore was transported to Fort Hamilton Hospital and is currently in stable condition. A ten year old passenger in the vehicle was transported to the hospital for a bruised right arm. A four year old passenger was also transported for a small cut on the head. Both children will be released upon completion of medical treatment. Approximately two feet of water was still in the pool at the time of the accident. No one inside the building was injured as a result of the accident.
This incident remains under investigation by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. Any information regarding the incident should be directed to the Traffic Investigations Division.
