News For Immediate Release…. February 1, 2008

Sheriff Richard K. Jones warns citizens of recent daytime burglaries-

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announced today that a recent incline of residential burglaries in the Madison Township area of Butler County are prompting his Sheriff’s Office to ask the community to “Be On the Look Out” for any suspicious person(s) or vehicle(s) that are in their neighborhoods.

Sheriff Jones is relating to the increase in burglaries in that area since early December 2007. Ten (10) burglaries have been reported and it is believed that the offenses are happening within the daytime (7 am – 5 pm) part of the day. Several residents have returned home to find their homes have been “forced” into and their property taken. A few of the residents having only been gone from their homes for a short period of time, thus causing concern that citizens may come home “unsuspecting” that their home is being burglarized and end up in a confrontation with the suspect(s). Some of the locations affected have been on Elk Creek Rd, Hetzler Rd., Michael Rd., No Mans Rd., Middletown-Eaton Rd., Keister Rd., Myers Rd., and Eaton Rd. in Wayne Township.

If anyone has any information on the recent burglaries or observes any suspicious activity or person(s) in their neighborhood they are urged to contact the Butler County Sheriff’s Office immediately and report their information.

Citizens can use the Sheriff’s Office Website to report anonymous crime tips @ www.butlersheriff.com or they can call;
