Northern Butler County townships seeing rise in residential burglaries;
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces today that there have been several homes in the northern section of Butler County that have been burglarized in the last few weeks. He is asking citizens in the county to BE ALERT! and to pay attention when they are out in the community for any suspicious activity that may be going on in their neighborhoods.
Sheriff Jones is referring to the increase in burglaries that are reportedly occurring in the daytime hours (7am-5pm) in the northern townships of Butler County. Six residential burglaries have been reported since July 27th. Five of the reports were taken by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office and one reported through the Oxford Township Police Department. Some of the locations affected have been Jacksonburg Rd., Waynes-Trace Rd., and Somerville-Jacksonburg Rd.(Wayne Township), Meyers Rd. (Madison Township), Hogue Rd. (Hanover Township), and Oxford-Milford Rd. (Oxford Township).
One witness reported seeing a white Ford extended-cab pick-up truck in the vicinity during the time reported for one of the burglaries. Anyone with any information on the recent burglaries is urged to contact the Butler County Sheriff’s Office immediately and report their information.
