News For Immediate Release – September 19, 2008

Child Struck by Motor Vehicle in Madison Township

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that Deputies and members of the Madison Township and the City of Trenton Life Squads responded to 3485 Poplar Street in Madison Township at approximately 1927 hours in reference to a five year old child struck by a vehicle. The tragic accident occurred while the family was doing yard work on the property of the residence. The Grandfather of the child, Brian R. Miller (age 48) from Madison Township, was backing his 2004 GMC truck in the backyard when the family realized the child had been struck.

The child was flown by Careflight to Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

This incident remains under investigation by the Butler County Coroner’s Office and the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. Any information regarding the incident should be directed to the Traffic Investigations Division.
