For Immediate Release…. October 7, 2008

Illegal Aliens Arrested In Forged Docs Ring.

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announces the results of an undercover investigation. During the investigation, undercover officers purchased a forged Social Security Card, forged Illinois Identification Card, and a forged Permanent Resident Card from Victor Gayton Hernandez.

On Monday, October 6th, 2008, undercover officers met with Hernandez, in Hamilton, and provided a picture and name for the documents. Hernandez later delivered the documents to an undercover officer, at a Fairfield grocery store. Hernandez was followed to a local trailer park and was arrested without incident. Hernandez had charged a total of $400.00 for the documents. Deputies found marked money, in addition to $776.00, on Hernandez, along with other forged documents. The identification cards included Illinois identification cards, Permanent Residence Cards, and social security cards. During the investigation, it was discovered that Hernandez had two other sets of identification cards ready for delivery. Each set was in an envelope with a name on the out side. Hernandez’s cellphone kept ringing during the car stop. It was discovered that the individuals calling Hernandez were the same people whose forged documents ready for delivery.

Undercover officers were able to make a return call to one subject and set up a meeting to exchange the documents for the balance owed for them. Rosalio Ruiz-Terrones met with undercover officers at a Hamilton grocery parking lot where he paid $50.00, the remaining balance owed for the documents, and took possession of fraudulent documents. Ruiz-Terrones was immediately taken into custody.

Hernandez and Ruiz-Terrones both admit to being illegal aliens, from Mexico, and are currently being held in the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Correctional Complex. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a “holder” on both subjects for possible deportation procedures.

Arrested: Victor Gayton Hernandez, age 27, Hardwick Ln, Cincinnati -- 5 counts Forgery (F-5); and Rosalio Ruiz-Terrones, age 28, Grand Blvd., Hamilton -- Forgery (M-1)
