Lindenwald Patrol Results in Pursuit/Arrest for Drug Trafficking & Weapons Charges
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports a Sheriff’s Deputy spotted what appeared to be a drug deal inside a vehicle parked along Belle Avenue near Pleasant Avenue while on a patrol through the Lindenwald area of Hamilton around 10:15 pm Friday, November 25. After one male exited the passenger side of a silver Dodge Neon, the Deputy pulled up to the vehicle to investigate further. The Neon then suddenly pulled away from the Deputy. The Deputy activated his lights and siren, attempting to stop the vehicle. The suspect tried to flee and led the Deputy on a brief chase through Lindenwald, committing several traffic offenses in the process (speeding and stop sign violations). The pursuit ended in a parking lot of Linden Lake Apartments in the 1600 block of St. Clair Avenue when the Deputy was able to strategically position his cruiser, pinning the suspect vehicle against a brick wall.
After arresting the suspect, Deputies then conducted a search of the vehicle. That search resulted in finding a loaded 9mm handgun on the front seat of the vehicle, along with a partial box of ammunition. Additionally, more than 35 grams of what appeared to be marijuana (with some being packaged in small, individual baggies) was found. Arrested was Bryan K. Moore, age 23, of Stephens Street, Hamilton. He has been charged with felony charges of Drug Trafficking and Failure to Comply, misdemeanor charges of Improper Handling of a Firearm and Possession of Drugs, and several assorted traffic offenses. Moore was taken to the Butler County Jail.
Sheriff Jones was pleased with the outcome of this potentially violent situation. “Being able to take a drug dealer, drugs, and a loaded gun off the streets without anyone being hurt is always a good thing, “ said Sheriff Jones. “The Deputy was in the right place, at the right time, and took appropriate actions. My Deputies stand ready to fight crime no matter where it happens in Butler County,” he added.
