BURN Unit Snags Another, Connected with California
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that search warrants were executed, on September 30th, resulting in the arrest of a high level drug trafficker and the confiscation of drugs, money, and vehicles. The Search Warrants were the result of an intense and extensive investigation by undercover agents of the Butler County Sheriff’s Undercover Regional Narcotics Taskforce (BURN). As a result of the investigation, agents arrested Vancino Gillespie, of 3221 Springview Drive, in Fairfield Township, Butler County. Gillespie was in possession of over 40 pounds of marijuana, loaded in three different packages. Gillespie obtained all three packages from three different addresses. Once Gillespie had all three packages he returned to his residence and was arrested.
Gillespie had been receiving packages, loaded with marijuana, from California, for several months. Gillespie also sent money back to California.
At approximately 10:00 a.m., on September 30th, search warrants were executed at 3221 Springview Drive, in Fairfield Township, and at a local bank, for Gillespie’s safe deposit box. Confiscated from both search warrants was approximately 40 pounds of marijuana, $19,025.00, a 2002 Honda, a 2007 Volkswagen, and a scale.
BURN agents were also able to have a separate package confiscated, in Los Angeles, California. That package was later found to contain $13,500.00.
Arrested: Vancino Gillespie, age 37
Charges: Trafficking in Drugs, felony 3
Possession of Drugs, felony 3
