UPDATE INFORMATION – Double Fatality Crash in Milford Twp


Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports this morning’s crash around 8:30 am on US Route 127 near the intersection of State Route 73 north of Sevenmile has resulted in a double fatality. Eric Delfendahl, age 21, of Fairfield, was pronounced dead at the scene after the 2005 Dodge mini-van he was driving northbound on US Route 127 apparently went left of center into the path of a southbound oil tanker-type truck. Stephanie Delfendahl, (the niece of Eric Delfendahl), age 6, also of Fairfield, was a passenger in the mini van. She was flown by medical helicopter from the scene to Children’s Hospital, Cincinnati, where she was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the tanker truck, Joseph Turry, age 62, of Louisville, KY, was assessed at the scene and appeared to sustain no injury. A passenger in the truck, Mark Pilkengton, age 34, of Lebanon Junction, KY, was transported by Sevenmile Squad to Fort Hamilton Hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and the Butler County Coroner’s Office.
