Sheriff Richard K. Jones Breaks up Fight On Main Street in City of Hamilton

Sheriff Richard K. Jones was traveling on Main Street today at approximately 3pm in an unmarked unit. Sheriff Jones observed a white male subject jump a fence on Eaton Ave. and run across traffic. Subject approached a red pick-up truck that was stopped in traffic on Eaton Ave. at Main Street in a hostile manner. The sheriff exited his unit and approached the suspect as he assaults the motorist. Sheriff Jones identified himself as a Police Officer and intervened, stopping the fight. Sheriff Jones was not injured in the altercation. Hamilton Polices units along with Sheriff’s Deputies arrived shortly thereafter at the scene. One suspect was arrested by Hamilton Police for assault and transported to HPD headquarters for processing.
